Richmark was founded in 2000 to help talented South African entrepreneurs build companies focused on innovation, continuity and long-term growth. To achieve this, we assumed the role of a venture capitalist company who played an active role in the decision-making process. This meant that the companies we had a vested interest in benefited from our vast business experience.
In the beginning, our primary focus was to expand a select few start-up businesses that we identified as being run by people with outstanding competence, integrity and skill. At the same time it was important for us to develop their human resources and encourage best business practices to ensure that these start-ups would realize their full potential. These days, we prefer to deal with established companies that display a good operating track record of at least two years. We have moved away from private equity investment to explore other revenue streams.
Our dream is to help grow the South African economy by creating jobs that empower people and providing the necessary funding to support emerging ventures. |
